Definition:

Scotopic vision is the vision of the human eye under low light conditions. Photopic vision is the human eye under well-lit conditions. An S/P ratio is the ratio of light measured by the scotopic and photopic methods. Lamps with high S/P ratios also improve one’s ability to see both low light and well-lit conditions.
